This project was fun from start to finish, this home owner owns his own business, works hard and wanted his own backyard Oasis to relax with his family after work and on the weekends. Every aspect of this job, scream relaxation and fun, including all the palm trees and landscaping the home owner did after the job was complete.

Features

The first thing you notice about this project is the gorgeous Silver Travertine Coping, that makes up the pool patio, pool coping and stairs leading down to the sunken pool bar. It’s an expansive amount of patio, and the natural stone accents this project perfectly.

This pool has a large tanning ledge with ample room for chaise lounges, so guests can relax in the pool with out being fully submerged, but still able to cool off, relax and tan.

Right off the shallow, the shallow wall of this pool is the true focal point of this project. The sunken pavilion pool bar, sits at the perfect depth, so patrons of the bar are eye level with swimmers and loungers in the pool. Bar Stools are set behind a custom cut marble bar top, that sits at the same height as the pool coping making the transition from bar top to coping seamless. Removable in pool bar stools from SR Smith with brackets were installed on the inside of the pool, so guests can pony up to the pool bar from either the pavilion side or pool side of the bar top.

The large dive rock instead of a diving board, allows for the natural feel of this project to continue while also bringing the fun for the kids and adult kids to the pool.

If you take the time to look at the pictures you will notice small details through out the entire project, from the gas fire pit area right off the pool, to all the landscaping and tropical plantings that will make this project a true back yard oasis.

Our friends at Wade Landscape helped us out on this project again, doing all the Travertine Patio and Veneer work inside the Pool Bar.

**Coastal Pools did not build the pool bar, we worked hand in hand with the home owner, Wade Landscape and Pavilion contractor to make this project seamless**

The majority of the time, our customers have a small vision in their head, and lean on our design team to bring their vision to life. This home owner, walked in to the initial sales consultation with a to scale diagram of what they wanted. Our job was just to bring that to life.

This gorgeous property sits on Cox Creek in Queen Anne’s County Maryland, and the goal of this pool was to bring maximum relaxation and ambiance to an already beautiful view. When the home owner presented the design to us, we knew from the start this was a job for Coastal Pools, we couldn’t wait to bring this job to life.

Features

The first thing you see when you walk into this backyard is the large curved/arched wall on the water side of the property. The homeowner wanted something to break up the hardlines of the home and hardscaping, adding this large curved area gives this pool the perfect architectural touch and makes it stand out in an already gorgeous back yard.

From there your eyes are drawn to the large tanning ledge with full width steps that wrap around the ledge turning into benches on each side of the pool. The ledge, steps and bench provide maximum room to relax in the pool, while enjoying the breathtaking view. Lined with a glass 1 x 2 tile, the ledge, steps and benches stand out from the rest of the pool, while providing the perfect touch of color.

The hardscaping was done by our good friends at Wade Landscapes in Edgewater, Maryland. They travertine coping, was custom cut to fit the radius’s of the pool, to give this project an even further custom look. The hardscaping which matches the coping in color and material was layed in a french pattern, which accents the radius areas of the pool that it touches.

Two Firebowls are placed perfectly on the both sides of the large tanning ledge to provide a perfect ambient light source for warm evenings by the pool.

Finally you notice the water color which sits a brighter blue by design from Cox Creek that sits 100′ feet away, the pool finish is a pebble finish from Wet Edge Technologies that not only looks amazing but comes with a 15 year warranty and will last this home owner up to 30 years before they have to think about refinishing their pool.

Fun build and amazing job by our entire team.

This Infinity Edge Pool and Spa is nestled on the serene Eastern Shore coast of Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. Minutes from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which can be seen in the background in many of the pics below, this pool and spa combo screams serenity and relaxation, with the room for lots of pool activities from relaxing in a lounger chair on the large tanning ledge, to cannon balls off the custom wood slide.

Features

The first and most notable aspect of this pool is the large infinity edge, that spills over the entire long length of the pool into a catch basin. When inside the pool, looking out over the infinity edge to the Chesapeake Bay, makes you feel as if you are in the bay itself. The infinity edge wall is covered in a beautiful 2 x 2 Tile (material outlined below), and is designed to create a water wall on the outside of the pool. Where the water spills over the pool into the catch basin, the water washes down the side of the pool wall, over the large 12 x 24 tiles to create a water fall effect, before finally falling into the large catch basin.

The next feature you will notice is the large spa, that spills over on all sides, which falls through another small catch basin before pouring into the pool, constantly adding hot water into the pool. The spa is a great way to sit back relax and enjoy the beautiful view this property has to offer, with the spill over on all sides of the spa you have a constant tranquil rushing water sound, as the spa spills through the catch basin into the pool.

You will notice a gorgeous wood diving board in some of the pictures below, this diving board, is a custom wood diving board and gives this project that extra bit of unique detail to take it over the top.

In the video above and some of the aerial pictures you will notice the large tanning ledge, that comes with two umbrella sleeves and plenty of room lounge chairs, so you can lounge while sitting in 12″ of water to stay cool and take relaxation to the next level.

Coastal Pools did not handle any of the hardscaping on this project, but Grassbusters Landscaping, did an amazing job on the Cambridge Pavers, Pillars, Steps, Fire Pit and Bluestone Accents on the outside of the patio.

Finally you will notice the gorgeous water color and pool finish, applied by our in-house Eco Finish team who did an amazing job with this project. The pool finish gives this pool a perfect water color to blend in with the scenery of the Bay behind it.

Coastal Pools was recently contacted by Exec-U-Lawn, to team up on this pool remodel in Annapolis Maryland. This pool looks out over the Severn River and has amazing view, however because of the proximity to the Severn River Bridge the noise was a big factor in the home owner trying to relax in their back yard. Then when you Factor in the pool and patio area that were very outdated, and this home owner decided it was time to give their back yard a face lift.

Features:

The first thing you notice about the pool in the before pictures below is the ugly and outdated concrete coping (there was a poured concrete patio as well) that trims out the pool. From there you will see a shed that was turned into a “pool house” and lastly you will see failing plaster. Coastal pools came in, and added a Blue Stone granite 6 x 12 pool coping from Classic Pool Tile and Stone that gives the pool a darker coping to make it stand out more from its surroundings. We then added Raku Cobalt waterline and trim tiles from NPT Tile, as well as the corresponding Deco Tile to give the pool that extra pop. Exec-U-Lawn worked hand in hand with us on this project and did an amazing job on the paver patio to really accent this pool. Finally, a raised wall with 3 Sheer Descent Water Falls were added in order to help drown out the noise from the Severn River Bridge, as well as to add to the tranquility of the project. Lastly Exec-U-Lawn ripped down the old pool house and built the home owner a custom out door kitchen to tie the entire project together. The final step was to replaster the pool using the Grigio Treasure Primera Stone by Wet Edge Technologies to give the pool the aqua marine water color the home owner was looking for.

Selections:

Tile:
Raku – Cobalt by NPT Tile

Deco Tile:
Rake – Cobalt Deco by NPT Tile

Coping:
Blue Pearl Granite 6 x 12 by Classic Pool Tile and Stone

Pool Finish:
Grigio Treasure Primera Stone by Wet Edge Technologies

The word of the day from the moment we started planning with this home owner was eloquent, and I think we delivered with the Custom Blue Stone Tanning Ledge. They wanted the pool to be a show stopper, one that was the focal point of conversation when they hosted parties. The homeowners didn’t have any small children at home, so their pool was for them, for relaxing and enjoying. I think Coastal Pools hit the nail on the head with this project, from Tile choices to the Custom Tanning Ledge, this pool defines the word eloquent.

Features

The first thing you notice about this pool is the tanning ledge, steps and benches; generally on most pools you see the ledges, benches and steps are finished in the same plaster as the bottom of the pool. However to make this project truly pop, we did the surface of all the ledges, benches and steps in a natural blue stone product. The material is the same material we used for the Coping, as well as the water feature, making this entire project truly come together. In my opinion the best part of this pool is the tile, we used the Trident Turquoise Tile from National Pool Tile (NPT) and accented it with the glass inlayed Deco Tile that matches the standard Tile. This pool is going to really pop and shine on a sunny day. Bubblers were added to the top of the tanning ledge, to give that bluestone a little extra touch and truly make it an eye catcher. The water feature is made from the same blue stone as the coping and tanning ledge, and then custom Blue Stone Treads were used as a cap on the water feature to really set it apart. The home owners are going to have a blast hosting parties in this back yard, our friends over at FA Hobson came in and did a wonderful job on the patio work, to tie this whole project together. We finished the project off with a Blue Crab Mosaic because after all the pool was built in Queen Anne’s County.

Selections

Tile: Trident Turquoise from NPT

Deco Tile: Trident Turquoise Deco Tiles from NPT

Coping: Blue Stone Premium Blue

Tanning Ledge, Steps and Benches: Blue Stone Premium Blue

Plaster: White Marbilite

Coastal Pools recently finished this beautiful pool with Custom Radius Coping, in Stevensville, Maryland. This customer has a private lane, with a very secluded property, surrounded my woods, so they wanted the ultimate relaxation pool to enjoy their backyard oasis. The home owners have younger children, so this pool is the perfect blend of fun, style and relaxation.

Features

The first thing you notice when you walk into this home owners back yard is the custom patio and pavers that were installed by FA Hobson Landscape, who worked hand in hand with Coastal Pools during this project. The patio area is large enough to entertain for adults, as well as giving them home owners children enough room for a running start for their cannon balls. Once you get to the pool the first thing that pops out at you is the gorgeous finish by Wet Edge Technologies, their Mid-night Ocean finish from their Pearl Matrix line is a beautiful Pebble Finish that glimmers when then sun hits it. The pool finish not only looks great, but will last 10+ years longer than your standard White Marbilite pool finish. From their your eye goes to the custom radius coping on the the four corners of the pool, a beautiful 12″ wide Indiana Limestone was used with a rock facing to give this pool a nice touch of elegance. Finally you will notice their are benches for ultimate relaxation in all four corners of the pool, as well steps that run the full width of the pool on the shallow end, all which are trimmed out perfectly with Serpentine Marine Tile from NPT.

Selections

Pool Tile: Serpentine Marine from National Pool Tile

Coping: Indiana Limestone

Pool Finish: Mid-Night Ocean Pearl Matrix by Wet Edge Technologies

Trim Tile: Serpentine Marine from National Pool Tile

Coastal Pools recently finished this Free Form Pool in Centreville, Maryland; right in time for Memorial Day. This customer reached out to Coastal Pools because we had recently finished a pool for their neighbor, and came highly recommended. The home owners had the home built, and have a large custom deck off the back of the house with a huge yard that backs to a farm, so the possibilities were endless. The home owners being retired, wanted something simple, with relaxation being the priority.

Features:

The first thing you notice about this pool is the large tanning ledge, that is surrounded by a large concrete patio; the home owners can fit two chaise lounges on the ledge, to bring relaxation to the ultimate level. The pool then has stairs leading to a large shallow end for wading, before dropping off to a 6′ foot deep pool. The total length of the pool clocks in around 38 feet, allowing for swimming from end to end with nothing impeding you. The biggest upgrade to this pool is the Bermuda finish from Wet Edge Technologies which is a Quartz finish from their Luna Quartz line of finishes, and will out last White Plaster pools by 10+ years. The finish has gray tones to it with bright blue aggregate to really make this pool pop in the sun. Add in the NPT Waterfall Victorian Tan tile and trim tiles, and this pool really pops. The final touch to this pool was the custom Tumbled Irregular blue stone coping, which gives the entire project a very natural feel.

Selections:

Pool Tile: NPT (National Pool Tile) – Waterfall Victoria Tan

Coping: Tumbled Irregular Bluestone

Pool Finish: Luna Quartz Bermuda by Wet Edge Technologies

Trim Tile: Waterfall Victoria Tan

Recently Coastal Pools was contracted for a pool remodel in Easton, Maryland.

Before

As you can see from the picture below, this pool was very outdated. The Tile was something out of the 1970’s, and the Coping was failing in multiple places. The original pool footprint also had a built in spa, that was not functioning correctly, and would need a new heater and plumbing installed.

After

Coastal Pools came up with a game plan that would address all of this customers needs and make the pool functional and more practical. First thing we need was demolish the dam wall between the existing Spa and Pool and add a new bench for pool lounging; so we took the spa and made it a functional part of the pool. We then redid all the plumbing to make sure the pool flowed correctly to the skimmers. We then adding a Tanning Ledge to one of the free form curves off the pool, allowing the home owner to relax on the Ledge while looking over their water front yard. Lastly we added new Water Line Tile, Trim Tiles for all the Steps, Benches and Ledges in the pool, New Brick Coping and re-plastered the pool with a high end Wet Edge Quartz finish. This pool now has a pool finish that will be just as strong 20 years from now as it is today, and gave the pool a complete face lift that is now much more functional.

If you have an existing Concrete pool that is in dire need of a face lift or complete re-design please give us a call at 410-827-0888 or shoot us an email to info@coastalpoolbuilders.net
